Located in southeastern Pennsylvania, “Thatcher Hill Sculpture Studio” is a secluded, five acre wooded property landscaped with granite glacier boulders and canopied by giant tulip poplar, maple, hickory and red and white oak trees.
Where else would a sculptor live, but in the midst of his inspiration?
The purpose of attending the classes or workshop varies for each individual. Some just want to free their minds of the daily stresses they encounter from their jobs by creating a free-form abstract sculpture. Others may want to unleash that hidden creative spirit within themselves. Yet some will learn to read the wood and find an image within it and then use hand tools to bring that image out.
Or, perhaps you saw a sculpture in a magazine and would like to see if you had it in you to duplicate it for display in your own home. No prior skill or talent is necessary…..only the desire to explore the connection between what you see and how you create it with you own hands.
